PAINT THE RINK PINK with the Mississauge St. Michael's Majors
On Wednesday, February 13th, the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors OHL Hockey Club will be holding the inaugural "Paint the Rink Pink" Night. The event is to celebrate the achievements of women’s hockey while supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation through a fundraising initiative.
The Majors and fans will be “Painting the Rink Pink” as the Hershey Centre ice surface will be painted pink for this special occasion. Players from the Majors will also be wearing special pink jerseys, along with the referees who will also be wearing special pink jerseys. All player jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer research.
With a goal of raising $10,000, the Majors will also be donating $2.00 from all general ticket sales, along with $1.00 off from group sales. The Majors are expecting girls hockey teams from Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington and from the Mississauga Girls Hockey League.
Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion will be joined by hockey icon Don Cherry and other notable guests for a special pre-game ceremony to kick off the evening.
