It has come to our attention that a group calling itself the OFHC (Ontario Female Hockey Conference) has been contacting various individuals and may be offering tryouts for female hockey players. Please be advised that the OFHC is not affiliated with, nor sanctioned by the OWHA (Ontario Women’s Hockey Association), the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) or Hockey Canada. As such, the OFHC has no benefits of membership which includes but is not limited to OWHA/Hockey Canada insurance, participation in its programs and approval to play other OWHA, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey or IIHF teams.

OHPSIMISSISSAUGA, Ont. (June 19, 2014) - The Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) is pleased to announce that they have been accepted into the Ontario High Performance Sport Initiative (OHPSI) and the Ontario National Centre Strategy for 2014-2015. Women’s hockey is one of only 18 sports to be accepted into Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) High Performance Programs.

Any OWHA player, team official, executive member, team, club or association, or any other Hockey Canada member found, by an investigative process, to have condoned, initiated or, to the detriment of another, participated in hazing actions or behaviours shall be subject to discipline up to and including expulsion from Hockey Canada registered programs. Please be advised that benefits of membership within the Ontario Women's Hockey Association include insurance coverage as outlined in the Hockey Canada booklet "Safety Requires Teamwork", located on our website under “Forms and Policies”. OWHA members are covered ONLY during Hockey Canada / OWHA sanctioned events (league games, tournaments, practices, training camps, sanctioned fundraisers) when playing member teams only. The OWHA has NOT sanctioned any tournaments in the months of June, July or August. The OWHA does NOT support participation in non-sanctioned events.
