Canadian Hockey Assocation

The Ontario Women's Hockey Association extends its sincere best wishes to Team Canada as they Go for the Gold in Italy!

The Ontario Women's Hockey Association is pleased to continue its role as a leader in the growth and development of female hockey. The OWHA was established in 1975 and since that time, the participants have competed on the ice while pooling efforts off the ice. It was the Vision of acceptance into the Olympics that led the OWHA to defy all odds and host the very successful 1987 First Women’s World Hockey Tournament. It was the success of that event that led to the first European Championship in 1989, the first official World Women’s Championship in 1990 and the realization of the Olympic dream.
