PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mississauga: This is an exciting time for Women’s Hockey in Ontario. It was the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association that led the charge for acceptance of the sport as an Olympic event.
The Ontario Women’s Hockey Association is now pleased to announce details of the 2011 OWHA Midget AA and Intermediate A, B & C Provincial Championships. Fifty-two teams (52) have qualified to compete in this prestigious event, which takes place February 18-20, 2011 at South Fletcher Arena in Brampton with 6 games at Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Over 1,200 participants from all parts of Ontario will vie for gold. OWHA Intermediate players must be 21 & under as of December 31, 2010. Midget players are 18 and under as of December 31, 2010.

Saturday Feb 19, 2011 South Fletcher, Brampton 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
Sunday Feb 20, 2011 South Fletcher, Brampton 9:00 am – 2:30 pm

The Midget AA Champions will advance to represent the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association at the Esso Cup, the National Female Midget Championship which will take place in St. Albert, Alberta from April 17th to 23rd.

Thunder Bay Queens Midget AA team is defending provincial and national champions.
