Twenty of Ontario ’s best women’s hockey players
have been selected to play for Team Ontario at the prestigious Canada
Winter Games to take place March 2nd to 8th,
2003in Campbelton and Bathurst , New Brunswick. Players are 17 years
or younger as of December 31, 2002 . Twenty players and a staff
of four will be with the team. Six alternates have also been identified
in case any of the 20 are unable to attend. All are in attendance
at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association camp in Vaughan from January
1st to 4th, 2003 .

Women’s hockey was first accepted into the Canada
Winter Games in 1991. Team Ontariois the defending gold medallist
from the 1999 Canada Winter Games in New Brunswick.
