GLOUCESTER CUMBERLAND AWARDED WITH KRUGER BIG ASSIST

Ottawa, ON. - The Ontario Women’s Hockey Association is pleased to congratulate The Gloucester Cumberland Girls Hockey Association on being awarded with the Kruger Big Assist.

This association will be given a $25,000 donation to subsidize player enrollment fees for those in need.

Gloucester Cumberland has been chosen based on their efforts of removing barriers and making hockey more accessible through financial assistance, supporting the youth on their dreams, and strengthening their diversity and inclusivity efforts within their community.

The Gloucester Cumberland Association is also in the running to be awarded the ‘Second Assist’, a $50,000 grant dedicated to cultivating diversity, equity, and inclusion in hockey. The Second Assist winner will be announced on April 13, 2023.

The Kruger Big Assist is a program that is designed to provide opportunities for kids to get on the ice by making hockey more affordable and accessible.

The OWHA is extremely proud of The Gloucester Cumberland Girls Hockey Association on this well-deserved award, and their continuous work to develop female hockey.
